CAFAM commitment to road safety

In order to strengthen its commitment and raise awareness about the importance of road education in society, the Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Chamber presented its campaign on the responsible use of motorcycles and ATVs (quadricycles).

CAFAM brings together the main motor vehicle terminals in the country such as Beta Motor de Argentina SA, Dragon SA (Brava), Corven Motors Argentina SA, Gilera Motors Argentina SA, La Emilia SA (Motomel), Yamaha Motor Argentina SA, Pagoda SA (Guerrero), Honda Motor de Argentina SA, Famsa (Jawa), Okinoi, Mar Maquinarias SA (Suzuki), Zanella Hnos. y Cía., Grupo Simpa SA (KTM - CAN AM), Marwen SA (Hero) and Motorbike Group SA (Gaf), and, within the framework of its activity, it presented a day of road education, as part of the launch of the “CAFAM Commitment to Road Safety” program.
The activity, carried out at the Arawak Estate, located in the Province of Buenos Aires, aimed to strengthen and engage all participants to work on road education in a sustained manner and raise awareness for future generations, through different Communication pieces that included, among other tools, videos about the different relevant topics in road safety for motor vehicle users.

The day was attended by CAFAM authorities, journalists and members of the Ministry of Transportation of the Government of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires. It began with words by the president of the Chamber, Lino Stefanuto, then it was the turn of Lic. Liliana Castellanos, responsible for the general coordination of the Department of Road Education, under the Ministry of Sustainable Mobility, Secretary of Transportation of the CABA , who provided data and impressions on the current road education landscape.
The event continued with a road safety panel composed of Almendra Murillo, Safety Argentina instructor at Honda Motor Argentina and the instructor of the Yamaha Motor Argentina Safe Driving Academy, Federico Brytwa, who referred to the work done by both companies to promote the responsible use of motor vehicles in the country. Finally, both instructors performed dynamic demonstrations of On and Off driving, showing safe driving positions, maneuvers, braking techniques and different strategies for both motorcycles and quadricycles.
“Over the years, motorcycles have acquired a very important role in terms of mobility throughout the country, due to their practicality and cost. Today we have a national park of more than 7,000,000 users and from the camera we are not oblivious to the importance of road education in its use. Undoubtedly, this is the starting point to start work and promote increasingly strong campaigns on this issue and involving all sectors of society,”said Lino Stefanuto.
