More than 48 thousand people enjoyed the exposed vehicles
on a weekend in pure sun!
With an unbeatable setting and an excellent competition, Argentine families and fans of classics from around the world were able to enjoy unique vehicles never before seen in what was the eighteenth edition of Autoclásica, the largest festival of motorcycles and classic cars in South America , Between Friday 12 and Monday 15 of October in the boulevard of the Hippodrome of San Isidro.
With a participation of more than 1000 classic and historical vehicles of international category carefully selected - all of more than 30 years old, in original condition and perfect functioning-, Autoclásica was an unparalleled opportunity to revive the history of the automotive industry and celebrate the preservation of their heritage.
The Autoclásica edition of this year recognized in the "Best of Show 2018" two unique vehicles that for their sporting achievements are internationally recognized, as well as being outstanding design objects. Among the cars the winner was a Ferrari 340/375 MM, from 1953 with a 4.500cc engine, V 12, designed by Aurelio Lampredi and with Pinin Farina body; while the greatest achievement among the bikes was taken by an MV Agusta 500 FOUR 1957, 4-cylinder, world champion piloted at the time by the British driver of motoring -F1- and motorcycling John Surtees, and restored by himself in the '90s.
This real party proposed a journey that evoked the passage of time through cars, motorcycles, boats, utility vehicles, military vehicles, agricultural machinery, which starred in our history.
As every year, since 2004, Autoclásica will allocate the collection of the parking lot of this edition to the acquisition of highly complex equipment for the Maternal and Child Hospital of San Isidro "Dr. Carlos Arturo Gianantonio. "
In this new edition, Autoclásica presented outstanding exhibitions that renewed the proposal and allowed to know in depth special themes.
In this edition, Autoclásica celebrated the 70th anniversary of the Porsche sports car, with more than 30 vehicles on display; 70 years of history of Land Rover, the English brand celebrated the anniversary of the presentation of the first of the Land Rover Defender Series I, which debuted at the Amsterdam Motor Show on April 30, 1948. On the other hand, with the institutional support of the Embassy of
Germany, a special tribute was carried out to the legendary Mercedes Benz 300 SL, with the exhibition of 10 vehicles of this model in its different versions, including the famous Gullwing version ("Seagull Wings").
In addition, Autoclásica visited almost 100 copies of Minis, which were presented at the XII International Meeting of Clubs MINIS of clubs from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay. There have also been present the legendary public transport groups that crossed the streets of Buenos Aires at different times.
And the irresistible proposal of Autoclásica 2018 was complemented with a Special Tent "World Legends". In this prominent space, a selective exhibition of the best exponents of cars and motorcycles that currently has the classic market in our country was exhibited. On the other hand, in commemoration of the first edition of Autoclásica in 1998 in the gardens of the Hipódromo de San Isidro were presented under the name "Best of Show. Autoclásica 20 años "a selection of 5 cars and 5 winning motorcycles of the highest award in some of the 18 different editions of the show, remembering that in the years 2001, 2002 and 2003 the sample was not made.
More than 400 incredible examples of street and competition of all times were present in the "Barrio de las Motos". This sector had the stellar presence of Harley-Davidson®, a traditional American brand that celebrates 115 years of history, which featured classic motorcycles and the latest models launched on the market. In addition, Royal Enfield, Norton and Morgan brands with their most prominent models presented all the news in the sample. This year, there were unique specimens of such prestigious brands as AJS, BMW, HRD, Douglas, Gilera, Ducati, Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha, Zanella, Puma, Siambretta, Triumph, among others. The most veteran motorcycle of the sample was a Peugeot V Twin 1906 of 350cc ..
Organized by the C.A.C., Autoclásica is unique in South America for the quantity, quality, variety, uniqueness and presentation status of the vehicles exhibited, carefully convened and selected to represent the best exponents of each historical era. Autoclásica was located on a wooded property of 9 hectares located on the Boulevard de los Jardines del Hipódromo de San Isidro opened its doors on 12, 13, 14 and 15 October, long weekend, between 10 and 18.30.
