Autoclásica, the largest festival of classic cars and motorcycles in South America, will award today Sunday 14 October the best classic vehicles of this eighteenth edition and will devote to the "Best Of Show" of cars and motorcycles. Those who attend Autoclásica will be able to enjoy the exquisite selection of vehicles of all times on display and in action on a specially designed circuit. A rigorous jury will evaluate the cars and motorcycles exhibited to reward the best of each of the FIVA categories and finally consecrate the expected "Best of Show 2018", whose ceremonies will be held: at 12 noon. the motorcycles and at 3 pm. the one of the automobiles. In turn, the special prize "Germán Sopeña" chosen by accredited journalists who have visited the exhibition will be awarded.
During the day yesterday in full sun, Autoclásica 2018 dressed in color when receiving a caravan of more than 80 copies of the XII International Club MINIS Meeting. The minis participants came from the MINI Clubs of Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay which were a unique experience for the attendees of the expo.
The 18th edition of Autoclásica takes place from Friday the 12th to Monday the 15th of October (holiday) in the San Isidro Hippodrome boulevard, between 10 a.m. and 6.30 p.m. With the participation of more than 1000 classic and historical vehicles of international category carefully selected. In 2018, Autoclásica was declared of Tourist Interest by the Secretariat of Tourism of the Nation, as well as of Municipal Interest by the Municipality of San Isidro. -Special "World Legends". In this outstanding space a selective call of the best exponents of cars and motorcycles is exhibited, which currently has the market of the classics in our country. Starting with the cars you can see: the REO of Ernesto Blanco of 7,000 cc with 4 carburetors - 180 HP - 170Km / h (ran from 1930 to 1955, and was winner of several races, as well as Argentine Free Force Champion. the 500 miles of Rafaela in 1940 and just 10 years later Juan Manuel Fangio with the Talbot Lago manages to lower the record); the Talbot Lago of 4,500 cc and 6 cylinders - 260 HP (monoposto of Grand Prix, 23 units were manufactured and it is the car with which J.M Fangio wins the 500 Miles of Rafaela in 1950); and the Ferrari 340/375 MM Berlinetta Competizione, body Pinin Farina, of 4,500 cc., 12 cylinders in V, 375 HP, model of which only 3 copies were manufactured. He was born with the Lampredi 340 engine and later enlarged with a 375. In 1953 he took part in the 24 hours of Le Mans obtaining the 5th place driven by the Marzotto brothers. He also won in the Senigallia Circuit under Paolo Marzotto. That same year, in 1953, he finished 4th in the Pan American Race under the command of Guido Mancini and Fabrizio Serena. But the best performance was achieved by winning the victory in 24 hours. of Spa, led by Giuseppe Farina and Mike Hawthorn.
On the other hand, among the most outstanding motorcycles of this special tent you can see: 3 World Champions - a Ducati D16 GP7 (2007) in the MotoGP of the Australian driver Casey Stoner; a Honda NSR500 (1997) of the 500cc championship of the driver Mick Doohan; and a Honda NSR500 (1987) in 500cc of the Australian Wayne Gardner-. There will also be an MV Agusta 500 FOUR 1957 (piloted at the time by British motor racing and motorcycling driver John Surtees, and restored by himself in the '90s); a 1977 Kawasaki KR750, winner of the Classic Tourist Trophy in 1977 and 1978 with Mick Grant; and a Yamaha TZ250E 1978, winner of the 250cc GP of Venezuela and Assen in 1978 with Kenny Roberts.
-70th anniversary of the Porsche sports car. The German brand celebrates its seven decades of legacy, with more than 30 vehicles on display, which provide a vision of the past and the future of the brand. The story goes that with the construction number 356 and chassis number 356-001, the year 1948 marks the birth of the Porsche brand in the Austrian city of Gmünd: the Porsche Typ 356 "No. 1" Roadster. his son 'Ferry' continued. Since then, the company has produced much more than just sports vehicles and has become synonymous with sports driving experience, automotive innovation, design and functionality.
-Special tribute to the different models of the Mercedes Benz 300 SL. With the institutional support of the German Embassy, a tribute never before seen in Autoclásica of the Mercedes Benz 300 is developed, with 10 vehicles of this model in its different versions, to recognize some of the classic sports vehicles par excellence, including the famous "Wings of Seagull". The Mercedes-Benz 300 SL is a two-seater supercar produced by the German manufacturer between 1954 and 1963. It was initially manufactured with a coupe body, and then also as a convertible. The 300 SL was one of the first supercars made in history. The Gullwing version ("Seagull Wings") was manufactured from 1954 to 1957, which was one of the most successful sports models in the world, and especially in the United States. Its most characteristic feature, gull wings, were introduced because due to the structure of its multi-tubular chassis, which gave it great strength and lightness, it was not possible to use conventional doors, the solution adopted, apart from solving the problem , drew the most original feature of the car. In Autoclásica 2018 there will be both Roadster and Gullwing models.
-The Land Rover's 70 years of history. The English brand is present in Autoclásica 2018 celebrating the seventieth anniversary of the presentation of the first of the Land Rover Defender Series I, which debuted at the Amsterdam Motor Show on April 30, 1948. This model, created by brothers Spencer and Maurice Wilks managers of the brand of the United Kingdom, it combined the chassis of a Willys Jeep of the Second World War, a Rover body, a naphtero engine and a manual gearbox with a rear axle. Today, Series I is an icon of English culture and an object of collectors' desire. In just a few square meters, you can see and compare a Land Rover Series I Station Wagon of 1957, Land Rover Santana Pick Up of 1988 and many more.
- "Best of Show. Autoclásica 20 años ": in 1998 the first edition of Autoclásica took place in the gardens of the Hipódromo de San Isidro. With the aim of remembering that date, 5 cars and 5 motorcycles that were chosen as Best of Show in one of the 18 different editions of the show are gathered under the same roof, remembering that 2001, 2002 and 2003 did not take place. the sample.

-Barrio de las Motos: is the exclusive space where there are almost 400 incredible copies of street and competition of all time. This sector has the stellar presence of Harley-Davidson®, a traditional American brand that celebrates 115 years of history, which presents classic motorcycles and latest models that are launching into the market, allowing us to contemplate the evolution of this centennial brand. Among the classic specimens there is a Harley-Davidson® 45 TWIN 1947, original 2-cylinder and 745cc, with original accessories purchased and installed on the day of purchase; and a Harley-Davidson® J. Board Track 1920 of 2 cylinders and 1000 cc. In addition, the Royal Enfield, Norton and Morgan brands with their most outstanding models. This year, there are motorcycles AJS, BMW, HRD, Douglas, Gilera, Ducati, Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha, Zanella, Puma, Siambretta, Triumph, among others. The live bands shows, club stands and new gastronomy spaces are always protagonists of the Motorcycle District, which generate a unique and festive climate to live in first person the lifestyle of the fans of the two wheels.
-Grand Prix Junior: The youngest also have their space in Autoclásica 2018.
