Royal Enfield continues to grow!
06/04/2019
We had the honor to be invited to the official presentation of the two new models of Royal Enfield: The Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650 two impressive machines, brought to the country by the Simpa Group, who take the route in reverse and challenge the despondent market Argento
Needless to say, it was a fantastic night. The eagerness to meet these two new Twins 650, which we only had the opportunity to see in photos or video, were huge. And is not for less. These brand new motorcycles, inspired by the classic 60s, are the first that the brand produces with the new 648cc cylindrical engine in parallel, which forces you to forget everything you could get to know about the engines of the previous Royal Enfield.
With a greater strength than its predecessors, the Twins sisters give us a maximum power of 47 hp at 7,100 rpm and a torque of 52 Nm at 4,000 rpm. This new engine is cooled by air and oil, the power system is by electronic injection and has a 6-speed box and an anti-rebound system that prevents your bones from being ground on long journeys. They comply with the Euro 4 Regulations and, through some small adjustments, will be able to comply with the Euro 6 Regulations.

Continental GT 650
Both share the same double-cradle chassis with a tubular steel structure. In its front part it boasts a 100 / 90-18 wheel with a 2.5 x 18 rim, supported by a telescopic fork with 41 mm tubes and 110 mm travel. In its rear is equipped with a wheel of 130 / 70-18 and a rim 3.5 x 18 and a double shock absorber with separate bottles adjustable in preload and a stroke of 88 mm. and you can get them in three variants: Standard, Custom and Chrome.
The Continental GT 650 is a beautiful cafe racer with a semi-handlebar that goes directly into the driving position and in the control over the front wheel, but without losing its conford in the driving. It has a legacy tank of 12 liters and weighs about 198kg. Its value starts at $ 8,599.
While the Interceptor 650 has a double cushioned seat and a wide handlebar that provide a very comfortable and agile driving. Its tank has a capacity of 13.7 liters, weighs about 202kg and has a base price of 8,339 dollars.
In addition to introducing ourselves to these two beauties, Mauricio Salazar, Country Manager of Royal Enfield, told us that in May they will be inaugurating a new location in Pilar, and that throughout this year they will open premises in Córdoba, Rosario and Mendoza. They will also be opening several service centers so that people can do the maintenance of the motorcycle without having to come to Buenos Aires.
Royal Enfield has been manufacturing motorcycles uninterrupted for 118 years and thanks to the aver sold around 820,000 units worldwide in 2018, has become the brand with the highest growth in the middle sector of motorcycles (ie between 250cc and 750cc ).
Taking out chest and pulling forward, the original brand of England up the ante by bringing to our lands these two powerful machines and challenges the frozen economy proposing to expand its presence throughout the country.

Interceptor 650
From Motonautas we wish them the greatest success and we add our hope that the other big brands accept the challenge and redouble the bet.
