The first major event that brings together the entire Argentine motorcycle industry began today at La Rural, with an exclusive day for the press and a large number of visitors.
From today until Sunday, October 28, the Motorcycle Show opens its doors for the first time, the exhibition that brings together, for four days, the main brands of motorcycles present in the market and companies of accessories, clothing, equipment and related services.
Organized by the Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Chamber (CAFAM) and Messe Frankfurt Argentina, it is a unique and international level meeting with more than 80 exhibitors and 120 brands.
During the morning of today, the Press Conference was held, in which the motorcycle companies took advantage of making announcements and showing their novelties. More than 50 launches took place within the framework of the event, with advances of the 2019 lines.
Subsequently, the opening ceremony and ribbon cutting took place, with the participation of the Minister of Transportation of the Nation, Lic. Guillermo Dietrich; the Minister of Production and Labor of the Nation, Lic. Dante Sica; the President of CAFAM, Eng. Lino Stefanuto; the President and CEO of Messe Frankfurt Argentina, Fernando Gorbarán, the Vice President and CFO of Messe Frankfurt Argentina, Nadina Sansolini, officials, CAFAM partners, journalists and businessmen of the sector.
"I congratulate the organizers for carrying out such an important event, for the effort they made. It is a challenge that took the sector of the motorcycle, which is very thriving and with which we managed to have a very useful sectoral table to work together and build consensus, "said the Minister of Production and Labor of the Nation, Lic. For his part, the President and CEO of Messe Frankfurt Argentina, Mr. Fernando Gorbarán said that "after many months of effort and joint work with CAFAM, we are very happy to be able to open the doors of the 1st Motorcycle Show, an exhibition of dimensions and quality that the sector deserves. We have greatly exceeded our initial expectations by having more than 80 exhibitors and 120 brands, in a space of 20,000 square meters. This represented a great challenge for us and for all the companies in the sector. "
In the framework of the opening of Moto 2018, an agreement was signed between the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Production and Labor,
the National Road Safety Agency and CAFAM, called "New Safety Tests". It consists of a series of safety measures for motor vehicles, in addition to those already contemplated by the National Traffic and Road Safety Law No. 24,449.
"Road safety is a priority of our government and we do it among all, the more actors involved and committed, the greater the progress. Therefore, the new signed agreement is so important, because it adds five new safety tests at the time of manufacture. In addition, we have to continue spreading and promoting the use of the helmet, "said the Minister of Transportation of the Nation, Lic. Guillermo Dietrich.
The importance of this new regulation -to which the industry must adapt- is framed in that the motorcyclist represents the most vulnerable actor in the transit: 4 out of 10 fatal victims in road accidents circulated by motorcycle, according to data from the National Agency of Road Safety (ANSV).
Also, during the event, a consensus was also announced between CAFAM and the Secretariat of Environment of the Nation about the final text of the Resolution Project for the granting of LCA (Environmental Configuration License) for motor vehicles and, with it, a viable timetable of implementation of sound, gaseous and electromagnetic emissions. The adaptation to these regulations will involve aligning with international parameters, giving international competitiveness to the sector.
In addition, in the same act, the signing of a cooperation framework agreement between the Ministry of Government of the Province of Buenos Aires and CAFAM took place to work jointly and permanently in dissemination, training and awareness activities related to the safe use of motor vehicles. "We understand that the motorcycle has been growing steadily as a means of transportation for a large part of the population, for all the advantages it offers in the cities. Therefore, we know that in order to consolidate it as an alternative in transit it is essential to support from road education, "said Lino
Stefanuto, President of CAFAM. He continued: "We are very satisfied with the agreements reached with the authorities of the Ministry of Transport, Production and Labor, the National Road Safety Agency, the Ministry of the Environment and the Ministry of Government of the Province of Buenos Aires. , because they are the result of the work carried out jointly between our sector and the different areas of government to give the motorcycle industry international competitiveness and consolidate it as a productive sector. These agreements are proof that the dialogue between all the parties can yield concrete benefits for all. "
During Friday, Saturday and Sunday there will be outdoor motorcycle races and activities will continue at the stands and in the auditorium, an open space where technical conferences and presentations will be held, with the participation of figures such as Jorge Martin, René Zanatta, Guillermo "Willy" Pérez, Benedicto "Chiche" Caldarella, Javier Pizzolito, Mauricio "Paco" Gómez, Claudio Pesce, Gustavo Morea, Martín Urruty, among others. Some of the topics are: practice and motocross technique, safe driving tips, motorcycling history, Dakar, safety accessories for motorcyclists, etc. In addition, there is also an outdoor test circuit with various activities.
