The motorcycle factory put its brand on sale and finishes all its goods and machinery.

Four years of Cambiemos economic policies led to Zanella, the emblematic motor vehicle factory, with 71 years of history. The company had in recent months reduced staff and production to avoid lowering its blinds, but the adjustment was not enough to survive the macrismo. Now he put his brand on sale and finishes all his goods and machinery. The firm is shielded in its adherence to the crisis prevention program to offer its workers to pay half of the compensation due in eight installments.
On February 11, 1948 Zanella began its activity in the country as a metallurgical workshop, manufacturing openings, and quickly became auto parts suppliers for Fiat and Peugeot. In the 50s he already specialized in motorcycle parts in the local market and came to produce motorcycles of low displacement one hundred percent national and export their products to Uruguay, Chile, Brazil, Cuba and African countries. The owner of Zanella, Walter Steiner, had shown himself as a great enthusiast because of Macri's arrival at the presidency. In 2017, the firm was authorized to develop its first truck (of Chinese design) and enter the automotive segment as another terminal. But the loss of the purchasing power of wages, the increase in costs, the commercial opening and the constant devaluation jumps (which particularly affected it by importing all its parts today) placed the company against the ropes. As reported by the firm, a General Assembly of Shareholders in San Luis is scheduled for December 27 to "consider the sale of the Zanella brand and other brands and property rights of the company and authorization of furniture and real estate" .
On December 5 he had made a first auction of machinery, this Thursday he will continue with his fleet of trucks, generators, cars and semi-trailers and on Friday it will be the turn of motorcycles, cargo vans, sandboxes, helmets and quadricycles , among other goods. In the year he had made other cuts that allowed him to save time but were not the answer to the deterioration generated by Cambiemos.
The sale of motor vehicles fell in the first eleven months of the year 44.3 percent over the same period of 2018, while Zanella was the most hit with a crash of 65.3 percent.
In October, it had closed its historic Caseros plant (administrative and production) and laid off 75 workers, half of the payroll. The factory was paralyzed for more than a month, although its operators continued to show up to meet schedules, in which they were not assigned tasks and were only performing assemblies. Previously, it had closed its Mar del Plata and Cruz de Eje (Córdoba) plants and reduced operations in San Luis, claiming that its sales have been affected by the fall of the domestic market, with the consequent dismissal of 32 workers of that factory. The firm presented a crisis prevention and announced that it will pay only 50 percent of the compensation, something that has since been rejected by the union.
The final closure occurs while the company continues to negotiate compensation. "The company owes part of the compensation to those who already dismissed and offers 50 percent to those who notified them that they will not continue," said Felix Aranda, union representative of the Metallurgical Workers Union (UOM) of Tres de Febrero.
The suspensions began last year, but since the end of June the company has not paid all the salaries nor paid the last bonus. “We will ask Zanella to detail how the process will continue and we will demand, again, the payment of debts. There are people who were detached and still did not receive their compensation", said Aranda, the delegate of the Caseros plant.
