Royal Einfeld was pleased to bring to our country 30 units of Pegasus, a motorcycle limited edition inspired by the legendary Flying Flea (Flying Flea) of the Second World War

Obviously the army of Great Britain also made an important use of these machines. Adapting the sidecars as stretchers to use the Royal as ambulances, or the imposing sidecar with machine gun Vickers, which formed the 5th Motorized Machine Gun Battery.
The Great War ended in 1918 and before many
they could even change the oil on their bikes, World War II broke out. The factory of Royal Eifeld had an indisputable participation with different inventions, armaments and with the WD / CO, a motorcycle of 350 cc. But there was another motorcycle that participated in crucial events to end the war and earned the respect and admiration of all: the Flying Flea.
The Flying Flea, whose real name was the WD / RE, was an improved version of the DWK RT, with greater performance and capacity, going from 98 CC to 126 CC.
While this bike is not the first thing you imagine when you think of a war motorcycle, it is precisely those "flaws" that made it so special. Its light weight allowed the pilot / soldier to lift it and cross a river or pass over a wall or transport it in a varcasa or even jump by parachute. As incredible as it sounds, the WD / RE did not earn the name of Flying Flea for it. These motorcycles had a support so that, together with the pilot, he could jump from an airplane and once on the ground both would be able to establish communications between the units that were scattered. So important was the Flying Flea that it was included in operations such as D-Day and Market Garden.

To pay tribute to this incredible motorcycle, 1,000 units were manufactured and the Eicher group decided to bring 30 of these exclusive machines. Which have recorded in the tank, 13.5 liters, its serial number, in addition to carrying with great pride the Pegasus logo, which represents the Parachute Brigade of which it was part.
The Royal Classic 500 Pegasus has a four-stroke engine, air cooled, 499 cc, 27.2 horsepower at 5250 rpm, 41.3 Nm at 4000 rpm, 5 gears, and electronic injection. Its chassis is tubular and uses the motor as a self-supporting component, which, with a full tank, gives it a weight of 203kg. It has a telescopic front suspension with a forks of 35 mm by 130 mm of travel; and in the rear suspension has double shock absorbers, loaded with gas with adjustable preload in 5 points and 80 mm of travel. The front tire is 90/90 - 19 "- 52 P with a 280 mm disc brake with double piston caliper and in the rear it uses a tire of 120/80 - 18" - 62 P. with brakes to 240 mm disc with one piston caliper and ABS: Double channel.
If you are willing to pay honors to the brave soldiers of World War II, if you want to proudly wear the Pegasus of the Parachute Brigade, and if you have $ 300,000 enter the Royal Enfield website and register to access one of these 30 unique motorcycles.

To my way of seeing the world, there is nothing more stupid and absurd than war. But you have to admit that they are great opportunities to realize ideas that otherwise would not have a budget.
A clear example of this is the British firm Royal Einfeld. This bicycle company was founded in 1881, under the name of Eadie Manufacturing Co. Ltd. and grew by leaps and bounds when in 1892 the English government, through the Royal Small Arms Factory (RSAF), a state company located in the municipality of Einfield, who was in charge of producing muskets, rifles and swords; he placed such an order with them that they renamed his company Royal Einfeld.
At the beginning of 1914 you could already smell the war in the air and countries like Bulgaria, France, Belgium, Russia and even the US. they made military contracts to acquire English motorcycles. In this way Royal Einfeld reaffirmed that old slogan that had its robust bicycles: Made Live a Gun Canon.
